The Committee for Integrity Enhancement presented its 28th Essay Contest Awards Program in a Facebook LIVE event, Monday, May 18, 7:00 p.m.

More than 1,000 Delaware County students in grades 4 through 12 wrote essays on the topic “How can my commitment to improving our community show my integrity?” Winning students in the Elementary and Middle School Divisions received cash prizes: $250 for First Place; $150 for Second Place; $100 for Third Place. New this year: High School Division winners received cash prizes: $1,000 for First Place; $500 for Second Place; $250 for Third Place. Read the First Place winning essays here.
Elementary School Division winners: First place: Anna Bowman, Yorktown Elementary (Teacher: Mr. Kerkhoff; Principal: Wesley Thornburg); second: Kathryn Enos, East Washington (Teacher: Mrs. Hernandez; Principal: Jason Rees); third: Addison Wormer, Yorktown Elementary (Teacher: Mrs. Jackson; Principal: Wesley Thornburg).
Middle School Division winners: First place: Mason Moulton, Yorktown Middle School (Teacher: Taryn McKnight; Principal: Heath Dudley); second: Shae Punzal, Pope John Paul II (teacher: Hattie Isenberg; Principal: Elisha Schlabach); third: Myles Enos, Delta Middle School (Teacher: Mr. Hazelrigg; Principal: Doug Marshall).
High School Division winners: First place: Elizabeth Marshall, Delta High School (Teacher: Kip Omstead, Principal: Chris Conley); second: Emma Day, Yorktown High School (Teacher: Barbara Miller; Principal: Stacey Brewer); third: Alana Stonewall, Heritage Hall High School (Teacher: Mr. Wallace; Principal: David Stein II).
C.I.E. also presented the Personal Integrity Awards recognizing Delaware County residents who have distinguished themselves as individuals of high principles and good character.
